New Hipster Frames

These finally came today. Thank you, universe. Even though I feel like I’m looking through a fishbowl (therefore contacts will remain my #1 choice), I have a feeling I might wear glasses a lot more than usual. Also shout out to my just figuring out the whole “sock-bun” thing. I don’t know if I don’t use a long enough sock for my hair, or what, but I feel like it always comes out looking like a messy wrap bun–never nice and neat like Pinterest says. And now, what is possibly my favorite photo of me ever:

Old Friends

This is my friend Sarah. I decided to put it in bold, because she sort of looks like me and I would be very offended if people commented saying, “Wow, Britt, you’re skinny now!”

If the thought crossed your mind, here’s what I have to say about that.

Sarah and I have known each other for around 12-15 years. I was 5 when I moved to the city we ended up both living in 1996. That’s a really long time to know someone and still be around each other.

Well, we reunited a while ago and–what else do I do with friends but take photos? So this is where we ended up! Click on the photos in the gallery below to make ‘em bigger.

Galaxy Nails

I did gradient nails with a black and sparkly navy, then added a chunk silver glitter to the top half of the nail. Pretty simple and I love them! This is actually a design I didn’t find from Pinterest, so congrats to me. Let me know if you try it out!

Nautical Nails and Other Designs

These nautical nails are some of my favorite I’ve had! When Anna was visiting last week, we did some nails (of course) and she was able to take this lovely Pinterest find and bring it to life! We used a brush for the white instead of tape, but she also hand-drew that anchor! Cool, right?

Anna took a nail art pen for the delicious dot design she did here! I was very impressed that she could do it on both her hands. That’s where I have problems!

Blue Smokey Eye Tutorial

Blue Smokey Eyes are fun and unique! Here’s how I do them:

First, start with a blank canvas! Obviously, make sure you have all your base makeup on first, and no left over eye makeup.

Then, apply an eyelid primer. The primer helps the eye shadow to last longer and not smudge or crease after time. It’s a miracle worker. Once you use it, you won’t know how you lived without it.

Then, apply the lightest of 3 blues to the inner corner of the eye.

Use the medium blue in the middle.

Use the darkest blue along the outside and top. I don’t have a dark blue, so I mixed my medium blue with black and applied like that.

Then, apply eyeliner and use a brush to smudge it.

All that’s left is to apply mascara and fill in any spots you missed!

Video Review of ELF and Outfit

So that’s the first video I ever made having to do with makeup! Yay! I forgot to mention the nail polish I’m wearing in the video is one of the ones I got in the Purple Trio. I don’t know what it’s called, though. It’s the lightest of the 3. Ugh, fine, I’ll go look it up. It’s called “Mod Mauve.” The darkest is on my toes right now, too. I like it!

Here’s the full outfit I was wearing in the video, headed out to a little bakery in Pasadena! (plus a white sweater, which isn’t shown).
