SPRING BREAK

IMGP9881 IMGP9903 IMGP9905

I basically live in leggings, and now that I have the week off from classes, pretty sure I’m going to only alternate between them and jeans. I had a friend give me some suggestions for what to do to make this week awesome and not just totally waste every day–so I hopefully will keep busy. ALSO, having Spring Break the week after the time change is so nice! No “jet lag” for me til next week! Yes!!

Also, also…I’m buying this shirt for the summer. Cute right? Gonna wear it everywhere, with my favorite jean shorts and some sandals:

Thoughts in Black

IMGP9440

I have to say how much I’ve been busy being not busy the past few weeks. It’s like I’ve made an effort to do none of my work. I call it my rebellious period. I think I was just so overwhelmed after last semester ended, then I’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of work I’ve had straight off this semester. But, I’m over it now.

I’m happy to report I’m back on schedule now, and things are looking up. For starters, I finally organized my room–not just cleaned it. I can’t express how much better it’s made me feel already.

My ankle is still healing somehow. I can’t believe how long it’s been and why it isn’t better already. I did manage to wear heels on Sunday, though. They gave me a blister on the back of my ankle, so now all I can wear are my loose shoes. So overall, it ended up taking my already limited  choice (only flats) to even more limited (only flats that don’t hurt my blister).

When I was organizing my room, I managed to get rid of a lot of stuff I was basically hanging on to for no reason. It’s so funny–when I originally put it all in a box and put it in a corner of my closet, I thought “I can’t just throw this away, I spent a lot of time on it, even though I’ll probably never look at it again.”

When I took it out yesterday, I was strangely unattached and didn’t care at all. All in the trash. It felt really…empowering. I know that’s weird, but it feels so good not to be attached to things. Sometimes I feel like I live my whole life making decisions based on one attachment or another.

Confession: I didn’t go to my classes today. I took a mental-sanity day and ran errands, then enjoyed a beautifully relaxing (much needed) pedicure. I can’t even fully express how much I’ve been needing to relax.

Happy Fall Equinox

I usually don’t post on Saturdays, but today is the start of fall–and well, I have to celebrate in my most fall outfit. The “Stanford” sweater is actually vintage! It belonged to my mom in the 80′s. The lace0side leggings (I don’t get to wear these nearly enough, btw) are from Papaya. The cute collared hearts piece was supposed to be a dress–but it totally shrank. Yes, again with my ELF Cheerful Cherry lipstick. It really is my fall favorite.

Even though the Fall Equinox is today, I don’t feel like fall has really set in. It’s definitely starting to creep around the corner, but I’m still holding out for 60 and 70 degree temps. Enough of this heat already! (But don’t come for a while, Winter.)

But, regardless of if we like it, the seasons are changing. Whether you pronounce it “Ee-quinox” or “Eh-quinox,” let’s remember to come together at this Season of Thankfulness–and let’s just all get along, okay?!

This is what I wear when I want to be comfy

A few things:

  1. I really like to match red and blue.
  2. I really like nature
  3. I don’t like wearing my glasses, but I’m out of contacts
  4. Side braid + overlarge shirt + leggings = favorite “not sweatpants, but still not trying” look
  5. I need to cut my bangs

Life is good. I’m taking my camera with me all day today so I can post “a day in the life” sometime soon! I’m so excited. I don’t even know how this is going to work, but I’m EXCITED.

In other good news, my car magically works now. That’s right, magically. If you remember, my car broke down. Every time I tried to start it, it wouldn’t. I didn’t touch it for almost two weeks–and then randomly went and tried and it works.

Life

Is

Good.

(thank you, Heavenly Father)

The next Project Good is probably going to be finished this weekend. If you missed the first one, here it is. Keep submitting!

Leggings with Lace

I’ve been wanting to get a pair of leggings like these for a while. I haven’t really decided on the type of top to pair them with, but I love them and couldn’t resist sharing. I have a leggings obsession, I am aware. I’m still in St George, so expect all those photos and updates next week.

Oh, HEY there, Monday

Dress from Charlotte Russe, Jeggings (yes, jeggings) from Old Navy, boots from Papaya.

I have officially been woken up by the greatest things the past two days. Life is pretty much awesome.

In other news, have someone take your photos that understands focus. Please. And in less harsh light. Don’t be like me.

Ready for a busy week!?? It’s coming!

Rainy California

Wool scarf: Gap; Jacket: Sonoma; Skirt: Charlotte Russe; Leggings: Forever21; Boots: Old Navy

Let’s pretend I meant for the background to be in focus and for myself to be not in focus. K thanks.

Sometimes it rains in California. Before I lived here, every time I came to visit, it was raining. It always ruined my fun and made it no fun to go to the beach. Now, I love it when it rains!

But it’s funny: even with the rain, and in the middle of winter, it never gets cold enough for me to break out any kind of thicker jacket than the one you see above.

Oh, California–never will I leave you. Now if only I could get my friends and family to move out here.
