Spring Has Arrived

Blazer: Forever21 (not available online, unless you’re in the UK); shoes: Charlotte Russe.

Can’t wait for the next few weeks! Spring has sprung. You will be seeing these shoes and blazer again!

Jeans

Soooooo I’m back in Utah (notice the snow) and I realized (as I was trying to think of a title for this post) that in the 6mo that I’ve had this blog, I’ve only worn jeans twice in all of the fashion posts! I’m always in dresses, skirts, shorts or leggings. I don’t wear jeans very often because I only have a few pairs and none of them seem to fit me very well. I have big hips and stuff.

Happy second post with jeans!

Also, if you’re wondering why my face is so chubby–I gained like almost 5lbs since I moved to California. Working on it.

MAKE SURE you check out the blog tomorrow (if you don’t ever come back again, just at least come back tomorrow)!!! It’ll be–in a word, amazing. Or at least cool. Or impressive. I’m not sure. But come. Tomorrow. Bookmark it.

Rainy California

Wool scarf: Gap; Jacket: Sonoma; Skirt: Charlotte Russe; Leggings: Forever21; Boots: Old Navy

Let’s pretend I meant for the background to be in focus and for myself to be not in focus. K thanks.

Sometimes it rains in California. Before I lived here, every time I came to visit, it was raining. It always ruined my fun and made it no fun to go to the beach. Now, I love it when it rains!

But it’s funny: even with the rain, and in the middle of winter, it never gets cold enough for me to break out any kind of thicker jacket than the one you see above.

Oh, California–never will I leave you. Now if only I could get my friends and family to move out here.

One Of Those Days

Happy Birthday to my wonderful, amazing, spectacular DAD!!

You know those days when you wake up and everything just kind of sucks? Like when you get into a fight or something bad happens the night before–you just wake up and as it all comes rushing back to you, you wish you never would’ve opened your eyes and you wonder how you ever fell asleep in the first place?

That’s how I feel today. Today is a day that I could easily never get out from under the covers and just sit and stew in my own depressing thoughts and cry and be miserable. It’s practically all I did yesterday.

I feel like that’d be easier than getting up and trying to be productive. I wonder why it’s so much easier to just wallow than it is to get up and shower and get dressed and stuff.

Well, I don’t know for sure, but in my limited experience, I’ve noticed that the things worth having are the things you have to try the hardest to achieve.

Like happiness. Or freedom.

Luckily, I have an awesome family and awesome friends who have shown me that it’s on these days when it’s the most important to get up, get ready and be productive.

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches on the soul–and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all.” a couple lines of poetry from Hope by Emily Dickinson.

Dress from a boutique in Utah, shoes from Forever 21.

I actually love the shoot I did for this post. Check out the rest in the gallery below:

Fall Favorites pt. II

The other two outfits to complete my $500 shopping spree (in my dreams): (see part one here.)
Outfit #3: I love the idea of using trench coats as dresses when it rains. I think I’d wear like a plain black shirt under and shorts over the tights just in case, though. The boots are especially great because I think they look fabulous, but would also keep you from slipping on the wet pavement!
Fall Outfit #3
Classic Trench by Asos, Boots are Date by Big Buddha and 120 Denier Black Tights by Asos. Not counting the umbrella in the total, although it’s super cute. Outfit total around $195.
That basically takes the rest of my imaginary $500, but I promised 2 outfits today, so the next is a complete dream look totaling just over $500!.
Fall Outfit #4
So the socks would be over the tights and just high enough to peak over the top of the boots (I think that’s cute). The cape/jacket would obv only be worn if necessary since it’d pretty much cover up the whole outfit which I’m in love with completely.
Skirt is Asos Flannel Skirt with Belt, top is Asos Deep V Cuff Shirt, boots are Asos Caramel, socks are Burlington Wool Argyle, tights are Asos Bow Seam Sheer, cape is Asos Cape with Fur Trim, clutch is Asos Faux Snake, snood (never heard of it before Asos, but totally cute!) is Asos Cable Knit Hooded Snood. Hope you’ve enjoyed this little 2-part fashion wishlist!

Fall Favorites pt. I

I’m a big online shopper. Asos.com is my absolute favorite online store right now. They are originally a UK only store, but now they are available online for free shipping to the US!! The style of clothes they have is 100% different than anything you could buy at Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. Which is a great thing. Especially since their website is way easier to navigate.

If I had an extra $500 laying around, I’d spend it on the following outfits. Since I don’t have that much, or any money, laying around, I’m going to dream and maybe buy one piece at a time for the rest of my life.

Outfit #1: Knit dress (Fairisle by Asos) with tights (by Asos) and boots (Liebrecht by Aldo) is always a classic. The tights make for a wonderful twist! The total for the outfit is around $145.

Outfit #2: A more casual must have look of feminine boots (Rosalie by Volatile) to go with the feminine bow on the shirt from Asos and a great pair of skinnies, also from Asos! Outfit total is around $155.

Fall Outfit #2
2 more outfits that complete the $500 in part two! Enjoy these and I’ll see ya then!

Purple

Purple argyle sweater, jeggings (yes, jeggings) from Old Navy, boots from Charlotte Russe.

Purple is the new fall/winter color for me. Purples and blacks. I went up to Idaho this past weekend (funny story, meant to go to Rexburg, ended up practically to Boise…oops) and bought some cool weather clothes from Old Navy to gear up for this next season.
