
Before and after editing! Keep reading for the tutorial. Remember, the software I use is free, so you can do this too!
A disclaimer: editing this photo only took me 15 minutes. Also, I don’t do this much editing with most of my photos. I do do this, however, when I take pictures of other people and for special occasions (bridals, etc.) I just don’t want everyone to think I edit all my photos to make myself look better. I don’t edit the vast majority of them this extensively. I just edit them to make them look professional or for tutorials.
For example, the Lipstick pictures on Wednesday were only edited for contrast (highlights and shadows), some eyeliner corrections and some lipstick corrections. Usually, I only fix the contrast.
Also, I’m not in love with the fact that the original is out there on the Internets. The things I do for science… ;D

Just click on the photos to see the gallery of how I edited this shot. Keep in mind that LESS is sometimes MORE. You still want to look like a person afterward, not a barbie! There’s a certain perfection in our imperfections.
